Saturday 5th Jan

These trucks are everywhere here and make 4wheel drives look like minis!!
Traffic wardens at work at the mall

One more sleep!!

This morning John and I were up reasonably early and went to buy another suitcase as Hannah and I are not taking all our clothes to Europe and what with all the pressies, John and Tim have no room left. We picked up another gift for someone at home and then rang David to come and get us about lunchtime. Christie dropped Hannah and Tim off just after we arrived home. Sally is still not well, and spent last night in the outpatients waiting to be seen by a DR. They sent her home with painkillers but they don't seem to be working. We hope she gets better soon.

This afternoon Hannah and I packed our bags for Paris and John has been showing me some last minute technical stuff about saving photos etc.

Tonight we are going out for Indian food. We were wondering if it was Sioux or Apache or what!!

Tim has been having a very quiet day watching TV and getting over his 2am morning. Hannah is feeling the effects too but they will be fine. Today the weather was overcast but quite warm and it did rain last night as the roads were wet this morning. We really have been very lucky with the weather here.
Check out some of the past blogs as I have added a couple more photos.
Well, this is probably the last post until we find an Internet cafe in PARIS!!! Au revoir!!

Well Viv - by the tiem you and Hannah get this news you will be in Paris! Oh the life! Seems you have had a great time with John's family and now you and Hannah will be all geared up to start your next adventure. All's well in Park Road - hay's done (both sides of the road), our kids all busy milking cows, throwing bales, painting the Mill etc etc. Barb and John have departed for the South Island, so we are back down to 6 here! Weather has been warm and kind to all those camping - we have had lots of family time/meals etc. - Still laughing at the photo of John and his dad - or was it his dad and John - they certainly have the same genes and mannerisms!

Have fun you two girls.
Love,
The Whiteheads

Hi Lees
Have just got back from taking another van of goods up to Wku - just as well Mum and Clive had that big clear out while he was in hosp!LOL as it has made room for some of mine. The movers are coming at 8.30am and so hopefully everything will have been done by then. I am beyond tired - did a 16hour day yesterday and am now on reserve tank. Had breakfast at 4pm! (left over wok n a box microwaved) and dinner (sandwhiches) at 7.30pm. The joys of moving! Am about to disconnect the computer hence this last message until I get up to Wku. Have a wonderful time in Paris - the keyboard is annoyingly different on their computers which is a challenge when you are trying to fast type to time allowed. It looks like I am leaving on the 15th for Perth - am finalising details tomorrow. Love to you all. Lynn

Bonjour mes amis,
Enfin, il pleut! (At last, it is raining). I'm home for the night to get Laura ready to return to Wellington tomorrow ( flying back Wednesday). This coincides with the first real rain of the camping season. The Rotorua rellies and Julian are still out there and' I'll go back tomorrow all going well. We really need the rain now, everywhere except camp of course, however we do get to play all those games that are taken out especially for these occasions. We played "Versability" last night; Laura won, much to Paul's chagrin as he thought he was in with a chance seeing Hannah wasn't there this year. Most other camping traditions have been maintained. We will most likely de-camp this weekend. Mark is back at work. Caught up with Lynn briefly at Mum's this afternoon and she's just about totally ex-Hamilton now. Looking forward to your Paris postings.
Au revoir, a bientot...
